Free Clubs

Learn how to get more from your machine as well as enjoy friendships around sewing.
Own an Accuquilt but are afraid to use it? This club is for you. Come in on the third Wednesday of the month and join us in sharing projects and discussing tricks of the trade. Each month a new block or technique will be demonstrated. Just show up for some fun. **THERE WILL BE NO ACCUCLUB IN FEBRUARY or MARCH.

Learn about threads, stabilizers, needles, design combinations, and the effects of embroidery on different fabrics and fibers. See a new project each month on the Fourth Thursday of each month, and be inspired about your own embroidery . THERE WILL BE NO EMBROIDERY CLUB IN DECEMBER.

A club for quilters of all levels. Learn new techniques from fellow club members as well as show 'n tell your own project. Learn how to make a different project each month, on the second Wednesday of the month, and receive the instructions to go home and do it! **NO QUILT CLUB IN JANUARY

If you are a new or experienced user of the AccuQuilt products, this is the event for you. AccuQuilt's national educator, Becky Winn, will be here to demonstrate using the fabric cutters. There will be two different classes. Friday, June 15th, "Cut Time, Quilt More" will be a basic beginning class on what GO! is all about for new owners and those who are curious. You can do EITHER the morning or the afternoon class. Saturday, June 16th, "GO! Beyond the Basics," is an intermediate class full of tips and tricks on how to expand your knowledge of the cutters and various GO! products. Learn the basics of free-motion quilting in a hands-on, supportive class. You will cover sewing machine set-up, strategies for success, and five basic designs that do not require marking. Leave with a new confidence and the urge to quilt a whole quilt yourself. A $10 deposit is required to sign up, the remaining $40 is due the teacher at the time of the class.

This is a first class for beginners. In this five week course, you will learn how to use the rotary cutter, how to piece accurately by finding the perfect quarter inch, and the correct way to iron your blocks.

If you are a newbie to the sewing world, this class is for you. You do not need a machine to take this class, we can have a machine for you to work on. Here, you will learn how to choose and coordinate fabrics, measure and cut, sew and finish seams with this fun and simple project. This Quick and Easy Pillowcase is sew much fun to make, you will want to make them for friends and family.

If you have taken "Project Pillowcase" and are ready to move to the next step, or, if you have a basic understanding of sewing (i.e., you know how to use your machine and have done some general sewing), this class is for you. This class revolves around making a pair of pajama bottoms. You will learn about the grain of fabric, laying out and cutting a pattern then sewing together.

Spend the day learning to make these wonderful stars, they can be scrappy or all the same, either way, they are wonderful. Perfect for beginners who have taken a beginning quilting class previously. Must be able to have a solid 1/4" seam and cutting skills.

The art of stenciling on fabric has been around for centuries, and stencils remain one of the easiest and most effective ways to apply imagery to fabrics. In this workshop, we will be using a unique collection of stencils April has developed that are incredibly fun and versatile to work with. This is a project-based workshop and a sample project will be provided, but you are also welcome to work in a more innovative collage type style if you prefer. Options will be provided for both formats. The first day of this two day workshop will be spent learning stenciling tips and techniques developed in my work over the years and then painting your own project with the design of your choice. The second day will be spent putting your piece together and exploring options for free motion quilting. Please come and join April for a day filled with creativity, inspiration, and just plain fun.
