SUPPLY LIST:
Please come a half hour early to get started. We have a lot to do.
260 x 200 or the 360 x 200 hoop depending on pillow size choice.
No Show Mesh fusible (desirable)
Normal sewing & embroidery supplies: sewing thread, pins, Frixion pen, emb thread (black, reds, greens); blue tape, snippets, applique or duckbill scissors. Remember if in doubt- Bring It!
Gathering foot if you have one, quilder's guide (this is the "L" looking thing that you may not have know what it was for)
Fabrics: (fabrics are suggestion of colors)
#1: Main Background & corner blocks 1/3 yard (white)
#2: Inner Border & ants (or ants could be a different scrap fabric) 1/8 yd black
#3: Outer border 3/8 yd (red check)
#4-8: Patched watermelon 5 different fabrics -1/8 yd each (red)
# 9-10: Watermelon Slice Appliques 2 different fabrics - 6 x 6" each (red)
#11: Ruched watermelon rind 1/8 yd green
#12: Dimensional blossoms 1/8 yd yellow
#13 Backing 1/2 yd
Other:
For vine: 3/4 yd mini ric rac (green) or fabric
For small rinds: 3/8 medium ric rac (green) or fabric
For seeds: Seeds are stitched, although you may want to use an optional black, permanent topping underneath the stitches for best coverage.
For center of blooms: 2 beads or buttons
If making pillow form: one yd of muslin & two 12 oz bags Polyfil Stuffing
Note: If you want to quilt the front of the pillow, you will also need 2/3 yd muslin & 2/3 yd thin batting. My first pillow I didn't quilt. My second one I am. I will be showing you how to do this (which most of you know what I am talking about).
